Alex Toth-Jones and Will Moore confirmed for Academy Motorsport British GT Campaign
Academy Motorsport is thrilled to announce a further two drivers for its British GT Championship campaign. Alex Toth-Jones and Academy Motorsport returnee, Will Moore, will partner one another in the second of the team’s Aston Martin Vantage GT4 race cars.
The team announced its first driver pairing back in January, however is pleased to finally confirm Alex and Will. Set for his third consecutive season in British GT with Academy Motorsport, Will Moore is certainly a familiar factor in the Academy Motorsport driving force. Having partnered the team’s Managing Director, Matt Nicoll-Jones behind the wheel for the last two seasons, Will is keen to see just what he and Alex can deliver in 2019.
Alex is making his British GT Championship debut this season, following a progression from the Ginetta GT5 Championship. After playing a supporting role to British GT during the last three seasons, he is keen to step-up as part of the main event.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Academy Motorsport,” said Alex. I’ve enjoyed my three years in the Ginetta GT5. I’m now ready to make the move up to the main event.
Commenting on the announcement, Matt Nicoll-Jones said: “I’m thrilled to be able to announce Alex and Will in our second car. We obviously know Will very well and I’m pleased he will be racing with us again this season. We are excited to work with Alex, having observed his progress throughout the Ginetta GT5 Championship and we’re looking forward to giving him the platform to demonstrate his talents in 2019.”
The 2019 British GT Championship gets underway at Oulton Park during the Easter weekend (20th – 22nd April)
